I saw a golden crocus yesterday
Through February's coverlet of snow
With petals stretched for warmth of sunshine's ray
I saw a golden crocus yesterday
And surely hope a robin lights today
As spring's first blush, proud ocherous breast he'll show
I saw a golden crocus yesterday
Through February’s coverlet of snow

In revamping my website, I've revisited my older works... some of this stuff is SO old, I've nearly forgotten it myself!

Think Spring, folks

Thinking spring, and enjoying this "oldie" but goodie.

We got hit with a long-lasting pea-sized rain of hail early this morning, around 3 dark thirty. It's supposed to get to 50 today, with snow.

Oh, Mother Nature's having fun...

Hi Nan,

I love the imagery here. Having a little trouble reading line 6, but it could be the way I'm trying to read it. Hmmmm.

I'm also trying to compile my work...
What a pain....

I am so ready for Spring to come, Nan. The only bad thing about that is the tornados, that come with the Spring. And, it looks like those are starting earlier, this year. But, I love to see the spring time flowers.

Thank you, I was worried that my crocus had croked! Your wonderful triolet brings me hope and reminds me that spring is worth the wait.

Nan - long time no see. Surely hope the robins come quickly, I'd love to see the snow melt and gone, and the warmer weather touch one...

Warming to the eyes and soul and gives me "some" desire to try one of these.  I think I will let that desire brood awhile and maybe I will try when spring hits.  Wonderful write and glad you dusted it off for us.

Ja der Frühling ist sehr schön.
It makes me smile to think it's almost here
Nice one Nan

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

Wonderful poem, old or new (or new again),
Enjoyed the fact of structure poetry
And the repeating line is one of the key things I put in my recent work.

Shoot that was darn perfect Hey, I know what a foot is now - so it's a start?  The chances of Spring here is long off, but I will enjoy your words to warm my soul with hope.
