Little ribbons, shoes and dresses,
Cars and trucks, and super-sized messes,
Games and books stacked ten feet high
Banged up knees, now don’t you cry!
There’s no escape from the Dr. Seuss-rhyme
It’s how I think now, most all the time.
The cadence of this, the drum of that,
The humming and singing, the rat-a-tat-tat,
The dishes are dirty, "my pants are wet"!
The dryer buzzed- they want a PET?
"You had a turn; nuh-uh it’s mine!"
"Kids, 'There’s never a time to be unkind'!”
The days are busy, when will I rest?
But this life’s all right, I think the best!
Yes, I am more than happy to be
On-call all day, for I’m a mom of three.

I have been really enjoying your poetry and plan to come back and comment on others that you have shared with us.  This poem though really touched me.  I am happy for you and your children - and I hope that you save all these poems for them.  Someday they will treasure them and share them with their children.

How wonderful to have you and your father here, sharing your talents and kindness.

Welcome to PiP if I have failed to say it before.

Super nice, shelerella!  it's been a long time, but you have rekindled all the memories of being a dad, following mom around, and trying to look helpful!

This has a wonderful rhythm and is really joy-filled, despite the chaos you happen to be in sometimes by being a mom of three!

True enthusiasm is felt.

Love,
Margherita

Cadenced kissed all the way through.  This read smooth as silk and the content, well it speaks for itself.  As for thinking and talking like Dr. Seuss ... nothing wrong with that at all.

Thanks to all that enjoyed it!     To Mark, I loved your description... "Cadence kissed"     I have to admit that they aren't so wee anymore... this was a reminiscent one of those more chaotic stay-at-home days.

Oh! How I know where you are. I was a stay at home mom, the mother of six, four boys and two girls. If you find the time read "MY FABULUOS FOUR" It's a couple pages back.  I loved this

my suggestion is to send the kids to grandpa's house so that you can get a few minutes relief...

shelerella the cinderella ~ lol

Being a Mom of three is no easy task! ~ But you appear to be in the trenches enjoying (almost lol ) every minute of it! I love your attritude ~ and this delightful portrait of you day! ~ and you even find the time to write poetry! ~ and very well, at that! You are quite the multi-tasker!

Love and a big hug,

Linda
