My Pet Snake, Lumpy

Welcome to Brandon, the small dog capital of the world.
........It's not the small dog capital of the world?

Surely there's some sort of dog show,
or meet.
........No?

A  competition then?
Pomerainian vs Peakanese perhaps.
Hmmm........
It must be a small dog infestation.

Are small dogs, dogs?
Because,......
they look like rats to me.

Which, I guess, might beg the question:
are rats pets,
or are they food for pets?

What is it they feed rats to?
.............SNAKES!

Wanted:

Large pet Boa-Constrictor,
Slightly underfeed preferred.

"Note: vers libre is not my forte."

Free verse is not your strong suit? ~ Well, it is when there is a liberal dose of tongue in cheek humour!

Might your town be over-run with little critters with long tails, red beady eyes, and they look like small dogs? lol

Yo Turtle,

This is an excellent piece of writing.

Rats are a menace.  There used to be so many rats in my hood, that mothers kept their babies in the oven to keep them from being rat bit.

My sister in law was bitten on the face by a rat while she slept.  My wife killed the thing.

In Mumbai, they have professional rat killers.  Perhaps that's the idea for Brandon.

Snakes are very valuable to mankind.

It's beautiful (can't find a different word).  And funny.  I'll never forget funny.  I don't think I'll ever forget this poem.

I really did enjoy this - structured or not - Here's our family pet..

Lobo probably isn't underfed, though...

Thanks guys

In a way, it's kind of sad. As people get older they lose their
spouses, their children, their ability to get out and around. Often
times that little pet is the only friend they have. Soon that little dog,
or cat becomes the only focus in their lives.

There are so many little dogs in this town, you literaly have to watch
where you step.

I understand......But still, I'm gonna vent! lol

Bobby, we must have cross posted. Thanks.
I'll bet there are bigger rats to fry in Philadelphia.

Sunny, You better be careful. I've heard that shih tzus
give snakes gas........

Blood.Wolf,..... lol

Nan, If you make that snake angry......
Does he turn into the mad hatter?  lol
