Ignite the embers of my failing heart
No veil of solitude can keep us apart
The amaranth grows in the ashes
It’s questing roots probe my soul
The sacred flower will rise again
Our passion will make us whole

A keeper of secrets I was cursed to be
Frozen chains bind me you hold the key
Blood and stone you will break through
To see through shallow disguise
Pierce the shadow the amaranth
Will grow with the sun’s rise

Reach to the heavens call down the rain
Soothing angels tears sweep away my pain
Wash away the bitter ashes
Quicken the eternal bloom
It will make a lover’s gift
Our hearts will unite soon.

Dedicated to Shannon, my beloved.

Beautiful! I have never seen the actual flower
so I googled it to allow me to see the
bright color of this lovely dedication!

Wonderful words, Sir!

What greater gift than the unity of hearts, so beautifully expressed by the poet.
