Hold no gods but love alone
For love alone can save
Love will gift a memory
That carries past the grave

Love demands no sacrifice
Though it is freely given
Under the banner of the heart
No thralls or slaves are driven

Love is peace and love is grace
There is no lovers war
No wrath no hell no divine judge
Behind the open door

No loving tongue may speak a lie
No loving ear may hear
Love claims all without recourse
To manipulating fear

Love holds one sacred command
And one the only sin
Do not deceive the one you love
Reveal what lies within

Share your passion share your heart
And light a blinding flame
Hold tight beneath the veil of night
And have no fear or shame

Hold no gods but love alone
For love will set you free
Break the chains cut through the mist
Of divine tyranny

Dedicated to Shannon, my beloved.

I would like to add that I was brought up as a catholic, so I was taught that the passion of love was sinful and shameful. I was faced with a choice. So I chose to cut through the empty threats and superstition and embrace the one absolute truth of this world. Love.

Never sigh for a better world, it's already composed, played and told.

Oh, yes... that it does. *S* I'm alone now but my life isn't empty... for once, I was loved. And I have memories. *S*

Excellent work, Suncleaver!

You shower your beloved Shannon with very beautiful poems, dear Luke.

In my opinion, there is no need to deny God, for He and LOVE are one. I understand what you mean by the teachings of the church!

Love,
Margherita

Hi , what you write is important and well expressed, all these definitions of love are true and open a lot of freedom.
