Me and the alley cat
out in the street
waxing poetic
scouring for meat
greasy hair
soiled sweater
the fur looked worse
but his stroll was better
alley and the fence
fighting for morsels
making no cents
crazy homeless sweater guy
of mangy friend and bloodshot eye
plotting with his pet
it doesn't get much worse I bet
snoring on the street
bugged by bugs and feline feet
my silent fearless friend
who met a wicked white walled end
he never had a name
but in the end its all the same

This is the first of yours I have read so I have to say welcome to Passions.

This is a very sad street piece but open and vivid for the reader.
Enjoyed.

very interesting and creative. I really enjoyed the manic, stretched feeling of this. at first I thought the rhyming would have to be forced to follow through, but you managed it in a tough, street-slang kinda way that fit brilliantly with the piece. a sad tail perhaps, but a fun read!

As they say, "It's a cat eat cat world out there!" ~ or is that a "dog eat dog" world out there?

Raw, stark ~ yet very effective in conveying "a cat eat cat world" out there!" ~ or is that a "dog eat dog world"?

Giving you a warm, welcoming pip hug,

Hi AG

Your name happens to be the title of one of my poems. It's about the painting by Grant Wood.

This is really good AG, I find it refreshing to read something that's not about found love, lost love, depression, or suicide.

This could probably be improved upon, but it demonstrates that you truely have talent.

thank you for sharing.
