Twilight Communion

Twilight longs for its communion with night
Loosening its tie, falling sunset out of sight
Absent of bird sounds, in stillness, they meet

Familiar friends, seek the hearth of momentary sigh
More, the pulse and proper bond, as fond comply
Scent of clove, aspires to make warm the air

Faint, the colors drawn to highlight fair
As muse reconciles the time once parted
Softly howling, shadow myths a star watched prowling

Whisper low and near the earth the talk of closeness given way
Lay thee down, in humble drown, awhile this night to stay
And keep me here, keep me

As in the verses told, beside you, comes the night less cold
For I will linger here, a long forever time

Twilight is a wonderful time of passage, and the thought of communion gives it greater beauty and meaning, as it has for you in this lovely poem.

Such nice open thoughts so pleasant and soothing.

Very nice indeed.

The title drew me in, and your gentle words of communion with twilight into night gifts this reader poetic pleasure.

This is quite lovely and soothing in the
visions and word sounds you have created.
After reading the last two lines, I read
the poem again with a much deeper perspective.  Very nice!

the words are indeed beautiful, but I found myself drawn to the internal rhyme scheme of this one...nicely done
