Tomorrow I'll wake up to rain
and I'll wake up late...
because I can.
Yes, I'll be sleeping in.
That's my plan.
I'll think of all those years
of getting up for work at 5:00 AM.
I'll hear the rain coming down
and I'll go back to sleep again.

My cats woke me up to eat so I just stumbled into the laundry room, fed them and went back to bed for a couple of hours.
It's about 9:00 now and it is still pouring rain. Guess I'll just have to sleep in tomrrow too.

Ida, take time to enjoy your morning sleep-in.
It's also hard for me to sleep past 5AM.
I usually just give up and watch PBS, Charlie Rose, BBC, then a local station for weather and news. My sassy cat always expects breakfast by 5AM.
Listening to a gentle rain is relaxing, even a hard rain can 'drum-roll' me back to sleep sometimes.

You and I, both, my friend. I am suppose to be off on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, right now in my type of work. Well, they called me and asked me to wor, Sunday. And, I said okay. Then, they called me back and asked me to work tomorrow, too. I told them I couldn't. I'm getting tired, Ida. I had one day off, last week. I want two days off, this week. So, I am sleeping, until I am ready to get up, tomorrow.

It's approaching midnight, and I'm having pleasant thoughts of sleeping in myself, Ida. No babysitting! A late breakfast in the morning, a little wine in the afternoon, and perhaps a poem.

A very nice read for a rainy night.

This feels so very cozy, dear Ida! Rain sounds and warm bed sound like such a great combination. I hate it when my husband comes knocking noisily, announcing "it's late!" ...

Very well done!

Love and warm hugs.

What better to slumber under than a soothing blanket of rainsong.

Beautiful Ida.

You are a lucky lady Ida, not so much for the sleep in but being able to wake up to rain. Oh if we could only have it here in Victoria. Yesterday was the hottest day on record in Melbourne.46.4. Bush fires everywhere, forty people burnt to death and hundreds of houses burnt as well. Take care.

I used to set my alarm to wake me up at my normal time on my days off, just to enjoy the feeling of being able to go back to sleep. too bad those days are few and far between....I really liked this piece

I love those rainy-sleep in-mornings, Ida.  Nothing like a late morning, a good book, rain dancing on the sky light and a couple of cats snuggled up.  That's heaven to me.

Love,
A

Oh, yes, my dear Ida Belle!!! You and me both!
I do not miss those 5 A.M. (actually 5:30 for me) rude awakenings to my nightly slumber! I too, am thankful for being able to laze in bed all nice 'n cozy, on 'rainfally' mornings. As my own boss, I get to choose my own hours!

Love to you,
Linda Lou
