man walked on the moon
the day she was born
I held her high to show her
the sky's the limit.
She came early, anxious to do it all...
calisthenics
ballet
laps of the pool.
Working for the government;
Espionage at eighteen.
Oh my fairy princess
married in the castle to her Scottish lord.
The sky was the limit
and now
I finger her picture,newspapered,and weep.
Not because of her flaxen mane
Nor the cause she fights
seeking help for the lame.
Not for her daughter withered in her walking frame.
Nor for her baby twins tugging at her train
Of thought...
A limitless sky still.
I weep for her hands....
Pictured there amongst the print clasping tight
her responsibilities of beaming love.
Her hands.Her fingers.
A mother's unvarnished nails.Holding aloft as if to show
Limited only by the sky above...

This is so very touching, Boshi. Spoken like a mother.
