              A Good Night’s Rest

A traveler pulled into a small country town,
He was extremely tired and seeking a bed,
But the town’s two pubs were completely booked out
So to the second pub’s manager, he said.

“I don’t really care where I lay down,
Surely you must have some place that will do,”
The publican said, “ I do have one double room
With two single beds and only one bloke, that is true.”

“I know that old Harry is a bit short of cash
So he might share the room’s cost if I quietly explain,
But the trouble is his snoring; it’s so awfully loud
That the people next door nearly always complain.”

“No worries,” said the traveler, “I’ll take it for sure,”
And was bright next morn as he sat down to his steak,
“How did you sleep,” the pub’s manager inquired,
“Did the other chap’s snoring keep you awake.”

“No, I shut him straight up as soon as I went in,”
“How did you manage that,” the manager inquired,
“I kissed him on the cheek and said good-night my dear
And he sat up all night watching me & never retired.”

LP, I'm still laughing! I can see it all playing out in my mind's eye! You sure know how to get this 'angel' to split her vestments and ruffle her 'feathers'!

Love you, my dear Aussie Man!
