I watched as the ball descended from Times Square
The countdown to begin another New Year
The pyrotecs, confetti, balloons, and pom poms galore
Telling the world the old is gone, and a New Year is here

A great celebration, the clock striking twelve once again
Crossroads of the World, Times Square so aptly named
Couples hugging, warm embraces and kissing is why they came
Then realize as you look around, without you it's not the same

No there wasn't much love in this lonely home tonight
Sure people were laughing and splatters of bubbly cheer
But a dark cloud of loneliness enveloped my restless soul
Starting my journey without your loving arms on this New Year

I don't understand love yet, this is my first time around
All the feelings within pour out like rain on the ground
Soaked and drenched, since you pulled your umbrella down
My mind foggy, i look around, but you're no where to be found

Welcome to Passions!

This is really sad but you deserve credit for putting the emotions of such a big hole in your life across so well....

You got the hurt sticking right out there in the words and that's good expression.

I can identify with those thoughts and feelings, for I too have spent a lonely New Year's even when not alone.

"No there wasn't much love in this lonely home tonight
Sure people were laughing and splatters of bubbly cheer
But a dark cloud of loneliness enveloped my restless soul
Starting my journey without your loving arms on this New Year"

~ Yes, exactly......But may love fill up your life again as it has for me. May your NYE 2010 be a joyful one!!!

You express the sadness and loneliness very well, Paul.
