This was inspired by some of the poetry I've read today on this site.

There isn’t going to be a happy after
and ever seems forever and a day
falling stars not wished upon
have burnt out from despair
and nothing silver lines those clouds
that cover me with grey.

Once I walked with gladdened steps
talked away the night time hours
made promises that offered second chances
looked for dawning in your eyes
saw hope mirrored there
until the day we wed.

Now we exchange love at a distance
telephone conversations, text
and muffled sobs during nights together
scorched hands show to touch is to be hurt
what I wouldn’t give to feel once more
know love with all its vagaries, its splendour.

Hey Keth

You really captured the frustrated emotional sadness......Don't know what poem you got it from but it was a good inspiration for you.

Don't forget our picnic........(smile)....

You and me both, dear friend. *S*

Some songs are sad ones and this is regret-laden... but beautiful. *S*
