Starlight and roses my vigil keep,
vespers whisper, windchimes weep
for stolen blissful clime to steep
tea leaves and tears before I sleep.

Dream lapsed shadow, indigo grew
cauldron of silence, broken-heart brew,
the meld of skin and amaranth dawn
in velour hours, curtains drawn.

Incant and murmur, a dusty shelf,
to resurrect my would-be self,
melody chancing her dance in blue,
evanescent, gossamer as morning dew ~

While moonlight taunts of poetry and paper
rise hungrily,  hauntingly, echoes and vapor

This is bomb-diggity. I feel sometimes like my brain doesn't have the capacity to rhyme. So I'm always impressed when someone else does.

What a treat to find you here!
Loved this. It made me feel spinning 'round waving a healing burning sage stick.
Nice to read you again, Klassy Lassy.

viking_metal, thank you for smiling on this!  I have to work at rhyme sometimes, but I hear it.  I am learning free verse and prose poetry, too.

Midnitesun ~  "a burning sage stick," -- how exotic, and such a pleasing image.  The closest I ever have gotten to sage is when I stuff a turkey, and I love the armoma of comfort as it cooks.  Comfort and healing...mmm, yes.  A lovely gentle review!

K, email me (the one listed here @Pips) with your snail mail addy, and I will send you one of my very own homegrown/home wrapped sage sticks. Sage is a powerful healer, one of Gaia's sacred gifts.

rhyme most typically has little appeal for me;
however, this 'write' is extremely fine!

MUCH (and long-sustained') applause for this 'penning'!!

Sunshine!    Thank you!

I have been pretty scarce, haven't I?  Life has a way of setting up detours at times, and I've had a little trouble keeping my muse in tow.  It's good to be here again, though.         Karen

secondhanddreampoet, awww.... I'm so glad not to have disappointed you. I like various forms of poetry, but I'm not adept at most of it.  I've learned so much from reading other's work.  It's nice to meet you, and I'm sure we will cross paths again.
