Stakes in the sand
And the hand rises high
While I lift my eyes
To a dream flying by
Breaks in the words
Poured out upon all these souls
Never turn, take it back
Never learn, take it back

Walking to Paradise
Taking my time
And i can't tell you why
I can't sing those songs here
I can't soothe your fears
Walking on tired feet
Ancient ground burning me
Faded books on the road
Jaded looks, lost and cold

Dreaming in borrowed skies
Screams from the sand, they rise
All this is come to now
All we can do is bow
Breaks in the words
Wasted on all these souls
Rising to haunt the stars
Singing of death and scars

Never turn, here you are
Never learn, you've come too far

Greetings, DharkOne!

A very intriguing piece of writing! It got the wheels in my mind working! lol ~ and I like that! They get a little rusty when I'm spoon-fed the gist of a poem! lol

These were my favourite lines ~

"Walking on tired feet
Ancient ground burning me
Faded books on the road
Jaded looks, lost and cold"

Giving you a warm, welcoming pip hug,
Earth Angel

Yo DharkOne,

Welcome, and thanks for not “singing of death” entirely.

Thank you for your welcoming words and your enjoyment of my writing.

To Robert : I find it overbearing to make one's art oppressively dark, ( or, conversely, nauseatingly "upbeat"), and seek to render a proper balance whenever possible. At times when the muse is off-balance, those works rarely, if ever, find themselves before the eyes of another.

DharkOne,

I knew I would get to your first poem one day soon.  It's interesting

quote:
Dreaming in borrowed skies
Screams from the sand, they rise

I liked those lines a lot.  They just reached out to me.

Again, welcome to PiP.  I hope you keep sharing with us.

Thank you all.
I'm kind of sluggish right now in the creativity Dept.
And I already know better than to wake a sleeping Muse, so.......
