I'm Sorry
for the things that were left unsaid
I'm Sorry
for letting my heart rule my head
I'm Sorry
for not being there
When needed by you,

your first steps
your first kiss
your first adult tooth,

All the birthdays
All the Christmases
I have missed
All the joys of the passing years,

All the love the laughter
All the sorrow the tears
All the things I have missed
All these years,

But I have watched you marry
And watched you carry
Your children into the world,

I'm Sorry I wasn't there
But I haven't been away
I have been watching your life
day by day,

From your birth to old lady
I have been in the shadows with pride
And it's my face you will see
When it's your turn to hide,
