I'd yet to recover
though I'd await
your return,
straining for voice
in the soundlessness
blaring in the
bable of unclarity

Can't you hear me?

I'd call out to you
on the fade
of the night tides

but the waves
held me down
and i slipped,
wy past the cross
currents, destined
for fear and withdrawal
for one thousand
(or was it just one?)
noctural noreasters

i shattered,

once a diva
of love and enchantment

at the clenches
of apathy, the spiraling
psychosis that gripped
at my soul's
stark obsession

kneeling on waves
waiting for rescue
collapsed on an altar
sightless, relentless

i was warped by
atrocity, wrapped
in old lacerations
on flesh and heart
self contained
in a vice of paralysis

but tepidly, I clung

polishing shells
with my skin
shedding red,
as the gulls
formed a ring
of white silence

pulling myself up
reaching towards you,
towards the strength
of your welcoming promise.

Love that ending, it really pulls it all together.
Great stimulating poetic lines......

"i was warped by
atrocity, wrapped
in old lacerations
of flesh and heart
consumed in a vice
of self pity"

Powerful description.

'kneeling on waves' 'tepidly I clung' --- you have a gift for evocative phrases.  I was caught up in this one.
