it was always the billboards before
that were my lovers on different highways
with their special curves and dead ends
that seemed to fit my leather
better than the saliva of their tattoos

I always knew they would meet too someday
within the same sunset somewhere in vegas
and then she double parked her sigh ways
in some parking lot on maybe so & no way
where she wore a smile in long time sleeves

and asked if I wanted to go down to small talk
and tell her all about the stranger of me
just as a friend talking to a friend
stringless like topless to a blinded man
and she was that kind of statue lovely

even when her leaving was too quickly
an autumn in my favorite endless summer
but she did give me back the highways again
and little secrets about behind the signs
where the view was still worth stopping for

though her lipstick was made from splinters

bitter sweet sighs thighs and moans
fill in the blanks of your mysterious
miles of highway muse

and asked if I wanted to go down to small talk
and tell her all about the stranger of me
just as a friend talking to a friend

I was captivated by so many lines... the ones steavenr highlighted are pure magic. *S* But for me, these are the seduction... the chance we have to take even if we end up picking out splinters. *S*

Fantastic write! *S* Into my library it goes. *S*
