Bones is hanging in the hood.
Another kid comes along,
and says—

“My father told me about you.
He says you’re no good,
and I’m to stay away from you.

Your Dad’s locked up,
and everyone knows
your mother’s a w**re.”

Wow! Those are horrible things for that mean boy to say to Bones! Even I am reeling from that onslaught of nastiness. I can only imagine how it must have made Bones feel!

Kids can be soooo darn cruel.

Thanks dear Linda,

Bones stuffed it away in his "Forget about it bag."

They became friends.

better not be friend with this one....Count your friends on one hand, these ones are true and faithful. Thanks Bobby for another thoughtful poem.

Regarding your reply to my own, Bones had a great idea there! Methinks I'll be stuffing some of the unsavory things I've experienced into a "Forget about it bag". Yeppers!

Hey the kids in the hood can be cruel sometimes but then they just don't know all the facts and the truth.

Bones has all of us as friends.

Kids like that don't turn out either.  They end up  with no job living at home with their mom and smoking pot at 24.  Believe me. If I had ever said that to a kid my parents would of whipped me raw.

Thanks Eric,

Kids here in the hood pretty much take things like that in stride, or beat the kid up that says them.

Thanks Juju,

If you had said that to Bones, he would never rat you out to your parents--it's not done.  Bones takes those things and forgets them.

Love Bobby
