      Cold Mountain Forest

bright moon dancing
in a boundless sky
to the star-songs of
   eternity …

gathering shadow-apparitions
in Winter twilight rendezvous
with a most sublime stillness and
profound, expressive silence …

pivot for the enlightened mind
   heart,
fulcrum for the soul to meet
the limitless deep-time universe.

Oh, my goodness, Bruce!  This is truly your very best!  I know I have said that before, but, in my humble opinion, this one outdoes all of the other "bests" and is a real 11 out of 10!

One of the many, many things you have achieved with this poem, is your unique stamp of melancholy (for want of another word, but you, and all your readers will know what I mean - that quietness, that appreciation of the nanosecond, that adoraton of nature), but this time it is melancholy without melancholy - there is a whisper of optimism and hope, and I reallllllllllly love that.  Besides the art in it is beyond excellent.

I am going to read this many times over, as I am sure all who read it will too.

nice...love this phrase:

"fulcrum for the soul"...you weave this like a fine tapestry...best of materials and workmanship...

Bruce,

I love the silence of the brightest moon.  I love how the shadows dance of the spruce trees and hold as still as they can.  I love the way my breath echoes into the night air.  I love the silence of the brightest moon.
