Love is at the center
waiting in the middle of despair,
anticipating joy,
with edges burned by ferocity,
crumpled by the long wait we call time,
waving a flag over the heathen shadows
that lock down the dormitory of sanity
and crawl up the walls of indecision.

Feel its comfort
sticking stubbornly to belief,
across the barren shores of forgiveness
where the crashing waves offer change;
unfinished as a moment
demanding action;

relenting to the pressure of a beating heart
accepting those living borders, love knows,
that though time stands still,
it grows.

Martie - over time if it's real, love does grow, and that's a good thing...

Love those verses flower girl.

Love really is tricky stuff isn't it?

Wonderful metaphors as usual.

Dear Martie, every heartfelt line you offer us is a precious bud of truth and pure unadulterated love.
What a wonderful gift you generously share.
I shall tuck this one into my library.

Somehow, within the blue walls, it seems
even more profound than when you first
shared this with me.

You, m'sis...are a marvel...

and I, a mere sisterling...

stand in awe.

“Love is at the center”

One would be hard pressed to find five more meaningful words.

“love knows,
that though time stands still,
it grows.”

This reminds me of flowers Martie,
and you.

Hi Martie

"Feel its comfort
sticking stubbornly to belief,
across the barren shores of forgiveness
where the crashing waves offer change;
unfinished as a moment
demanding action;"

Wonderful!  The whole poem is, of course, just that but I particularly like the above.  Hope life is treating you well these days.

"lock down the dormitory of sanity
and crawl up the walls of indecision"

...what a creative and interesting choice of word usage in this phrase...very nicely done throughout

Hey, Martie!

It's as if we have another living entity inside of us that always is changing, deals with difficulties, matures and grows:  the simpliest of things: love, that no-one claims to understand.

You're always on top of your game,Martie,
