Je me souviens de mon pays,
De ces saveurs, odeurs et bruits,
Ces mémoires de mon enfance,
Mon présent vécu en silence.

Il fallait bien que je m’enfuis
Du vacarme de leurs fusils,
De leurs harangues et des cries
De tout ces enfants en souffrance.
                   Je me souviens.

Il y a des jours, je m’ennuie
Des paysages de ma patrie,
De ces boites et de ces danses;
Depuis que j’habite en France
Je sens que je vie chez autrui.
                Je me souviens.

Je suis d'accord avec les comments de Mysteria.
Excuse ma Francais parce-qu'il est tres pauvre.

Le Francais, cette une langue tres belle.

Bon soir et au revoir, mon ami,
Linda

Merci Mysteria & Earth Angel.

Marc

Mark - even though I don't know French I wanted to reply anyway. After reading other poetry you have posted I'm sure it's a well written one...

Like Bill, I do not know French (other that 2 words, silence and French---they don't really count, though) but I did use a computer translator to read it...it is a lovely write of remembrance...good read in any language...thanks for sharing...

Hi Marc, No critics, just admiration about control of the french language...Very interesting write with deep meaning and exquisite rhymes, I would have think it was a french who wrote it.... (cries is just written cris, no e )

C'est splendide.

amitiés

Thanks for the nice comments, Bill and Steave I might try to translate it soon.

Yann, oui c'est bien la devise du Quebec, je suis natif de Montreal. Merci pour la correction, j'apprecie beaucoup.

Vous êtes un humain compatissant, ainsi il est impossible d'ignorer les cris et la souffrance de d'autres.
Les mémoires peuvent être douloureuses.

Please forgive my rusty French.
Namaste...

No, I was born and raised in California.
Long ago, I adopted some words and phrases I believe are not only beautiful, but speak to the heart of the oneness of all living beings....namaste, is one such word.
