There are places,
things,
and people
Bones carries in his mind—
things that have stuck with him
through the years.

Places like the big new garage
where he was raped
when he was five years old.
It smelled so new, and stuffy.
It was hot that day.

Things like the little red scooter
that he rode to that garage that day.
It was new,
and it was loads of fun to ride.

People like the big man,
yes, he was very big,
and very strong
that raped him that day.

Some people would probably
even say the big man
was handsome and good looking.

The big, handsome,
good looking man
hurt Bones a lot.

He hurt Bones forever.

Bobby

Thanks dear Juju,

Yes it was.  A good memory can be a lot of trouble.

You can survive and learn to stand up and smile again and if you're lucky, good memories come along to keep those bad ones company and dilute their power... but you never forget and you know you're not the person you were before or might have become if your innocence had not been trashed.

And Bones is right... it hurts forever.

The big man should be SHOT!

You're right Bones will be affected forever.

Thanks dear Suthern,

What you say is true.

It can happen everyday, everywhere, and to any one.

It's not an exclusive club.

Thanks Yann,

Yes it does take resilience to move ahead.  You never forget it entirely, it comes to mind every now and then.

Thanks Eric,

I don't know what happened to the big man.  It probably didn't bother him for long, or at all.

I'm feel sure he wasn't shot.  It would be a good idea though.
