40 Grit

He’s a Mans, man, I’ve heard them say,
Tall dark and handsome is he,

A hard working guy, barely takes time to rest,
Somewhere else he has to be,

He’s always on time where he’s going,
As long as you don’t set a time,

His schedule is full, until a minute ago,
Don’t expect him to toe the line,

But there is one thing you can count on,
He’ll be there if ever you need,

As faithful a Friend, Father, Brother or Son,
His honor he’ll never concede,

His hands, strong from years of tough work,
Are as rough as 40 grit,

Yet his heart is soft like puppy fur,
This man we all know as “CHIP”.

The answer is always NO, Until the question is asked.

Yo "WT",

It sounds like Chip is taking care of things.

He could probably stand some help.

Thanks for dropping in to read my poem about my younger brother.  I have a lot of respect for him and his abilities.

He collects and restores old cars for a living.  He is very good at what he does.

I wanted to put a picture of one of his cars in my poem, but I have not figuered out how to do it yet.

WT.

Is is nice to know how much we care for our siblings and family members. I love this, even if he was a little devil. Thanks.

I'm glad I read your explanation.
I appreciate respect for your younger brother you write in this piece.
There's way too little of that in the world today. Sibling or not I think we lack respect for each other's abilities.
A very enjoyable read.

I love this. Like others I didn't know who you might be referring to, but your sidebar was an added homily. Thank you for that.

CHIP might know a few his age
as his brother will emote
A man of comfort, a new sage
a Country's love, he emotes.

Happy Birthday, Chip!

Your poem is very touching. Your brother sounds like a great man and talented as well. That car is a beauty!

As long as you don’t set a time,

I love this! *S* Your brother sounds like a wonderful man... and he's lucky to be appreciated so by his family! *S*

Thank you for introducing us to Chip.  I imagine he is pretty proud of his big brother too.  What a nice tribute to friend and family.

Your special and appreciative poem had even more meaning for me after reading it was about your brother! ~ and then the icing on the 'beef'cake, was the photo of him with the car he restored!

Enjoyed this post in its entirety!

Here's a hug for you, Chip, ~ and that car!

Love always,
