I won’t pretend
I don’t think this is madness
I won’t pretend
I don’t see the sadness
in the fabric of your rhyme

I see you
surrendering to circumstance
of happily ever after

condemned either way

but what’s worse?
what’s better?
out of reach dreams
you placed on a shelf
back when you could still

hope

I heard the prayers
whispered in your soul
I covered my eyes too late
I didn’t mean to intrude
I couldn’t help but
feel your emotions

so broken

choices sometimes
aren’t really choices
at all.

~SEA~

Yo dear SEA,

What you say is true.  Many people never have choices.  It's up to the rest of us to try and ease their pain.

a grand 'penning' (to one who most certainly deserves
far better than what 'life' has misdirected her way!) ...

and a fine 1st. 'comment/reply' post to this 'write' as well!

sustained applause for this poem!

SEA - nice to read your writings again. Yes, choices at times aren't really choices at all...

Deeply sensitive write, a reaching out from one soul to another! And a very eloquent picture too.

Hope can flourish especially when one thinks all hope is lost. Don't give up! Very nicely written!

Oh that's good!

Love the ending because it's so true.
Trying to be something we're not is a tough act no matter what the situation. Most likely hurting others without even knowing it.

Good writng young lady!

Famous line:  If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

Or how about choosing the lessor of two evils.  What kind of choice is that.

I learned a long time ago to choose what is better for someone you love, than what is best for you.  You may not always be happy with your choice, but by choosing to make someone else happy, you can always say you made a "good" choice.

Wonderful Poem.  WT.

Sea,

Frequently I have looked at people and seriously wondered WHAT they saw in someone, to make them make the final committment of marriage.

Chemistry is magic
and some magic is stronger than others,
...
I guess.
Eloquent work, Sea.

thank you all very much and Dixie, I love you. Until they have walked a mile in your shoes, no one should have anything negative to say to you about this. He lied to you....
