To Hold The Other Side

You must grow open to the center,
relinquish, yet hold in as if a cloud,
of all the clouds in any ordinary sky
on any ordinary day had borne
within herself one whole and secret place
that was not cloud, one opening surrounded,
sheltered, smooth, wherein a light
would spring, all goldened in the haze
but clear, to fill the whole of it and flow
out to the edges of the cloud herself,
yet secretly, so tenuous, sublime
that only the cloud would know.

What wonderful visions, dear Ed! Enjoyed the magic of this cloud.

Ratleader,
I don't know if you do this, but sometimes I read the poem out loud first, sight unseen, and this one really rings!
(above should ONLY be done when others aren't around, preferably)

It's hard to describe something so ethereal, as the openness one has to have, to the other side of existence, in order to receive anything at all, let alone anything that makes sense.

Needless to say, this one's a very personal poem, written more for myself and to myself, than anyone else. Sometimes I just need to describe what it's like, living inside an Ed.
