An Ode To The Good Friend

Even a heavy heart
Just like my own
Can be Lifted up high
With a smile
by an old acquaintance
Who said he cared

Do you remember June?
That month when spring begins!
And forget the cool chill.
Oh I can see Summer
Is just a month away

But keep me the sweet blooms
Of the apple orchids
And every good fruit bared

The Harvest will bring me
The even greater joy!!!

Yo dear Juju,

This is excellent work.  I remember apple trees from when I lived in the country.

They were beautiful in the Spring.

A harvest of warmth, sweetness, and light---a very pleasant thought.

Thanks,

This is great work Juju. Sometimes you need an old friend.

Never sigh for a better world, it's already composed, played and told.

I'm keeping this one in my library, poet.
It's really beautiful.
More, please.

Elegantly done, Milady. Soft and sweet... and perfect.

(And thank you for your comment on my scribble.)

When one pens feelings with the nuances of nature, I am sure to be hooked and you did superbly on this.  Lovely verse and a pleasure to read.

I like this...it reminds me of something someone told me long ago...he used to say that there would never be another suicide or runaway teen if everyone who considered such things knew that there was at least one person who truly cared for them...I learned to accept that and put it into practice in the lives of others...I have never regretted it...

I'm a lover of harvest time too.
Lovely mood for a folk song and acoustic guitar.  Well done!
