Some people take Bones
for being empty-headed,

I mean,
like how could a kid
forced to do
what Bones does
to stay alive
possibility have any
intelligence at all.

They would be
very mistaken.

When Bones was given
the opportunity
to attend school,
he did very well.

People that think
Bones is a dullard,
should take his place
out on the street,
and see how long
they would survive.

Take my word for it,
they wouldn’t survive
at all.

Bobby

well I have never thought this of Bones, Bobby, and I never will...   RDB

I do not know what a 'dullard' is? I will go look it up  xxx

Most kids now are street wise
But i would hate to rely on my wits in the street life,
Good poem Bobby i liked reading it,
it has a wring of truth within it,

Well Penned..

Thanks dear RDB,

You've always been a good friend to Bones, and the little guy is very appreciative of that.

Let me know if you have trouble with "dullard" in the dictionary.

I know what you mean Bobbby and I KNOW street life and it's no cake walk!
Survival is the bottom line.

Been real close to being there myself. Thrown in jail the whole schmaze.

You don't hear, "would you like to supersize that"?
On the street!

Thanks dear Anniepimm,

For reading, and for your kind comments on the poem.

The streets here in the hood require a very specialized knowledge of the human terrain.

Thanks Eric,

I'm pleased the poem worked for you.  Street life is always a minute by minute affair, with always an unpleasant surprise lurking just around the corner.
