Seven Keys
by Linda L. Dowd

Closed doors greet me at every turn,
As I roam dark corridors.
I've lost the keys to open them,
~ Locked rooms forever more.

There was a time, when I'd fret not,
For I knew that I'd prevail,
That I could open any door,
~ My keys would never fail.

But as the years sped quickly by,
~ Those keys began to rust.
I hadn't taken care of them,
~ And they returned to dust.

The winds of fame and fortune,
~ They blew my keys away.
I'd lost all sight of Godly things,
And saw no need to pray.

One by one the keys were gone,
As I went my selfish ways.
Now door by door was slamming shut,
~ Lost rooms of sun-filled days.

I roam the dark and endless halls,
In this House of Cards on earth.
No more shall I enjoy those rooms,
Until my death ~ my birth.

~ * ~

What’s that I hear? ~ A voice so clear,
~ Resounding that all is well.
As radiant Light pierces dead of night,
I am raised from living hell.

I’m gathered in His loving arms,
All sorrows just slip away.
My heart’s replete with joy and hope,
As I greet the new-born day.

~ * ~

I hold in hand the Seven Keys,
~ That to me, God did entrust.
Forever I will care for them,
~ I will never let them rust.

One by one, doors open wide.
~ Halls flood with God’s White Light
I walk them now with head held high,
~ For I would be all right.

~

This was one of the most inspirational poems I ever read. I'm not big on faith, but I do believe in God and every word in your poem hit me with the truth. Thanks.

Yo dear Linda,

It doesn't work that way.  No keys exist, and the doors are never locked.  Just walk right in.  That's what free will is all about.

Love Bobby

Linda - this is one of the very few writings that brought a tear to my eyes. So very touching this one is, as it did touch me deeply...

Angelo Terrestre! This really touches the heart and soul, you have used a wonderful metaphor with your seven keys that risked to be lost. But with your wisdom and faith you always receive  a first hand answer from the heavenly realms.

It is a joy to walk the Path with you.

Wonder filled.

Love and hugs.

Linda, whilst I agree with Bobby, I nevertheless love your poem and see the symbols as valid and think your poem is very, very beautiful and inspiring.  You, too are very beautiful (outside and inside) and inspiring.

Funny, how we find ourselves locked out sometimes, never even realizing we had access to the keys, all along.

So very beautiful our dear angel of light.

Linda,
How fascinating that you talk about the welcome home Lord-Hug.  I have heard so many people say that their golden moment in heaven will be The Embrace.
So perfectly described.....

REJ ~

You're right in the sense that there are no keys in the literal sense.
~ and yes, that Door is always Open for us to walk through.
