My hands tied behind my back
Chains of time bind my feet
To a concrete block
In the middle of a musty room
My soul cries out
Echoing in the silence
Bouncing off the walls
Slamming me to the ground

... And I think to myself ... If only they knew

Im released when I awake
Resurrected from this slumber
I stumble about the room
A door appears on the wall adjacent
To this concrete block
And I'm no longer chained
I walk outside and cry
Because I know that I only have
Until my body decides to rest again

... And I think to myself ... If only they knew

The sun shines so bright
I see the beautiful faces
But someone tell me
Why they're not smiling
Guilt clouds their eyes as they scatter
In a million directions, they're lost
Have they never seen that lonely room
Never experienced the pain
Of being alone
So oblivious to the torture
That I'm put through
Everytime I shut my eyes
My bodys getting weaker
I feel the drowsiness overtaking me
I force my eyes open
And I will my legs to keep moving forward
Maybe I can walk so far away
That sin won't find me
I pass these beautiful people
But they don't see me
I'm screaming at them
Screaming for help

... And I think to myself ... If only they knew

I slip back into hell
With the stinging knowledge
That they won't miss me
I shudder against the wind, so cold
Falling to my knees
Begging to wake up
This torture is unlike no other
And I picture those people
Going about their lives
Have they no idea
That the path they walk
Will take them straight to me
I imagine God
And what He would think
Of this mess He meant for good

... I can almost hear him thinking ... If only they knew
