Bones foster family
loves him
to bits and pieces.

Oh, they surely do.
Bones is a God-send,
he means the world
to them.

I mean,
just look at the facts.

Here’s a kid
that can work in the barn,
he’ll do anything you tell him to,
then you can bring him in at night,
and he’ll clean your house,
top to bottom.

He’ll work his heart out for you.

He’s easy,
he’s malleable,
he’s scared half to death.

To top it all off,
you get paid to supposedly
take care of him.

Is that a deal or what?

Bobby

Rather unsettling and thought-provoking, a nice write that strongly delivers the message. Mark

I know it happens. I have a young guy working for me now that was adopted with four of his siblings but it was for the government financial benefits that they were takin in.
There's no bond of love there and this young man's adopted parents worked the living daylights out of him.

Sad very very sad!

Thanks Eric,

There are a load of sad stories out there.

There's a difference in the U. S. between adoptive parents, and the foster parent system.  In the U. S. the foster parent system is the pits for the kids involved.

I have allot of adopted friends.  They hate adoption.  Kind of sad because alot of poeple in my family are adopted.  We were farm families, but they did the same work as the other kids and got a collage education [In 1910 not common] But they never came back after collage.

My mom told me of other families however that used kids as slaves.  It is quite sad.

Bones ought to run away. He can do better on his own.

Thanks dear Juju,

There is usually a vast difference between adoption and foster parents.  Adoptive parents usually love the kids.  The foster parents are paid by the government to take care of the kids.  Foster parents are in it for the money.  There’s no love involved.

Thanks Paul,

He did get away from that place, and did do good.

You speak with impact of a very sad situation in which oh so many children found themselves struggling.

Thanks dear Margherita,

For the kind words on the poem.  It has always been my contention that even in the best situation, there is no such thing as a happy childhood.

Love Bobby
