Placid waters call
In tiny fresh water lagoons.

Terns resting from bays crested wave,

The paddle dipping,
Diamonds cast in sun-strewn spray,
Whirlpools kissing the edge.

Box turtles tanning on fallen pines,
Escaping the invasion of my prying eye,
Splashing in muddy bottomed water along the banks.

I feel sunlit cast, upon my face,
Hearing the slight rumbling taps,
Of ripples wake along the bottom of my canoe,

Sliding through placid waters,
In tiny fresh water lagoon.

Peace of  mind can only be achieved when we find peace with self

Welcome to Passions! Anyone from Michigan is likely to know this very lagoon...and I've been a resident, long ago...

Please, check your email for a Very Special Greeting!

Welcome to Passions! I used to have an OldTown canoe...17ft. I loved that trip across the lake.

This is a beautiful peaceful write...I can relate so well. Lovely word pictures.

Can't beat an adventure by canoe.  You describe Michigan waters well.

Welcome to Passions.

Burk,

This is lovely.  I don't know the lagoon, but I saw it through your eyes and felt it with the touch of your imagination.

Welcome to PiP.
