He sleeps restlessly
while I sit crying;
a ring on my finger,
he doesn't know I'm lying...
and when I gaze at pictures
he doesn't see me dying.

I try with all my might
to remember the accident,
drunk or sober does no good,
can't recall the way it went,
can't see the visions in my head
or hear the cries I meant.

He sleeps restlessly
and I tire of tossing and turning,
a lesson lost years back when
I forgot about re-learning
things I long forgot about
left on that bridge a'burning.

Forgive the nonsense of me now.
But at 330 in the morning
when he is snoring and I'm awake
and the world is kinda boring...
I try to remember the accident
but I guess it's worth ignoring.

You've captured the reasons for such terrible unrest. I was held right to the page. The past can be a killer sometimes. Very creative!
