We’re violent
here in the land of “Them”.

Yes, there’s no denying it,
here in the land of “Them”
we’re very violent.

Some say it’s hereditary,
other claim that the environment
itself must claim responsibility.

However which way you cut it,
that’s just the way it is,
and that’s the way we are.

When you drive through the hood,
always keep your windows
wound-up tight,
lock your doors,
and never make eye contact
with me or my mates.

Bobby

Yo Bobby....Thanks for the thoughtful poem....I know that Bobby, I close my car glasses in Downtown LA and have some disapointment making eye contact in NY, One guy asked me if I was feeling OK...Once  I even jumped in a taxi in NY to escape a thief....In these towns and others too, you haven't not to think to others , you have to don't think to others and it can be difficult, but it is human condition and I get used to it even in my little brittany town.

regards

Thanks Yann,

I must admit it was kind of fun to scare people just by being there.

It also made us feel bad though.

I can relate, having grown up in a California town full of 'hoodlums' and 'gangsters', where on at least one occasion, a rival high school football team from a 'nice neighborhood' chose to forfeit the game, staying away from the scheduled Friday night 'showdown' simply because one or two 'gangsters' called their teams captain and threatened to 'annihilate them' on the field. Some of us had a good laugh over that easy victory, as no one had to score a real touchdown.

Thanks dear Kacy,

There you go.  That's the way to win football games.  A bad reputation can do wonders.

Love Bobby
