As appendage
to its native green
forlorn, it sinks
almost passively
within the earth's
possession

in schism's shift
the winds of west
play both
requiem and liberator
to its lanky stemmed
oppression.

Nothing lasts forever............(cliche)

Great words to express the final days of this beauty.

"the winds of west
play both
requiem and liberator"

...neat line...in a well-written and descriptive poem...think I'll go back and read it again...and again

Love this one, goddess of ink.  It reminds me of the cheerful yellow daisies that grow wild along our roadside.  And we are supposed to detest them because they are invasive species.  I know that this is a concern, but how can I not love the little yellow daisies?

You make me feel just like your daisy!

Intensely vivid imagery!

Oh, the poor little daisy. Now I'm shivering.
Goddess, you put me in her skin with your incredible writing!

Her life was brief ~ but the memory of her lives on through the beauty of your words.

I found this tidbit staggering.  Mich, you have such a refreshing paintbox of expressions!

This is a beautiful poem. The daisy is not so different from us, when you think about it.
