you were a little girl again
in your eyes, I heard the songs
that you sang to daydreams often
with your windows down on freeways
wearing endless summers on purpose

and pressing words to your mind
like the imprints of butterflies
when they fly over lovers
making shadows on their skin
tattoos of shimmering that lingers

we would always be strangers like the sky
and the ocean except at their evening's edges
but our blues and grays in parking lots
would be momentary smiles parked beside
and across from nearly the same direction

just a hinted distance from circled palms

it is the edges
melding in blurred abandon
that makes the sunset.

Ah yes, "in your eyes I heard the songs".

Connection however distant is still a mystery wonderful...

Sometimes, I feel like I have this big book on my lap that I am poring over.  It has wonderful illustrations and beautiful music comes from the pages - and the story mesmerizes me.  You write the book.

Thank you.

Winter seems less cold when you perceive and speak of endless summers and butterflies. This "circle of palms" exercises that certain irresistible magnetic power which is a characteristic of your master pen.
