.

January now
Is not the same
As when
We were young

Back then
There was more than
Reindeer flying
Through a starry sky
Near the end
Of a prior year
I could believe

Growing up
Is not the same
As growing old

One can be aged
As Moses
And still a fool

Over withered fields
Covered in new snow
The plaintive ringing
Of a distant bell

.

"January now is not the same as when we were young" Truer words were never spoken.

yes ... a fine 'penning'!

particularly that part of a line:

"...a starry sky
Near the end
Of a prior year
I could believe"

applause!

is it good or bad to be a fool ? It surely depends.

Thank you for the  tremendous poem.
