Again and again,
standing three winds
from eternity,
I called for you,

but your voice
like a vanished kiss
stung me,
with the silence,
of torn letters.

I looked behind
the curtain of night
and saw your forgotten,
yesterday,

limping to a corner, of dawn
as it faded between,
hills of time, and galaxies,
of dead answers,

reaching for me,
as it burned in ice,
and,
in regret.

It was only with
the harmony,
of lands and cloud,
could you walk
beside the beauty,
of the spirit.

Your aura,
which smells of
tall corn fields and sun,
vanilla beans and sorrow,

and soft vines laden,
with pebbles, of sweet juice.

I met you on occasion,
memory disallows me,
to recall.

Your hair reminding me,
of the breath of panthers,
your eyes dark,
like caves I once explored,
and your mouth, familiar,

like past love.

It was you who first,
taught the smoke,
that it could fly.

On that night the clouds,
were pregnant,
with tears.

The air, catching still,
as you caused the wind
to lose its breath,

as the grass
hugged the ground
so it could lay soft,

beneath your skin.

The darkness smiled
when the shooting star
burned up in the sky,

just to be closer to you,

your face,
painted with moonlight,
as your lips,
like two scarlet secrets,

drank my eyes
as they melted,

upon your mouth.

How many moons
did I look at with you,

not ever knowing so.

How many paths
of moments
did I cross of yours,

just missing you,
by centuries,
of moment.

How many nights
did we sleep together,
to only wake up
alone again,
forever apart.

How many mouths,
did I kiss,
in search of,

only, your's.

Waiting,
so I could cover you
with the length,

of my shadow.

To penetrate,
your barriers,

your walls,
of, incompleteness.

Nestled between
that mystery,
and the sacred directions,

your wings,
they spread for me,
my earth, digging,
and burrowing,

into your, sky.

You, my bird of thunder
who guides me,
to self,
to above,
to below,

and,
to the all unknown.

Mending my arrow
with the softness
of your feathers,

I lower myself
on wounded knee,
searching,
for the trail
of enlightenment,

that is you,

inside the valleys,
of your path.

Born of the blue tear,
of burning water,
she, who dances,
on glimmered passion,
bareback,
astride the restless pony,

spirit rides.

In the rhythm,
of my, blood,
of bouncing flesh,
on painted desserts,
of earth,
and wood,

along the shores,
of her sunset,
into the shadow,
of cries,
of our, desire,
and onto,
the tip,

of her dreams.

you do not make it easy...find something I think is the best, copy...replace with something better...copy and replace...copy and replace...and so on...do love this, though:

"Your aura,
which smells of
tall corn fields and sun,
vanilla beans and sorrow"

...man, that's nice

Richy, you've done it again! I'm swooning and breathless from the sweeping strokes of your heart pen. My heart be still! (Note to Universe ~ Don't take that literally! lol)

There would be one heckuvvalot more happy and conted women in this world if they were to receive such love, appreciation ~ and poetry!

Warm hug 'n a big smiley face,
Linda

I appreciate steavenr's dilemma. *S* But these lines... I wish I'd written. *S* Superb work!

"The darkness smiled
when the shooting star
burned up in the sky,

just to be closer to you,"
