it is strange how mornings make shadows
that seem to blend into hands
like strangers reaching across partial
but not all the way into touching

just out of reach like I imagined you
but I kept you behind the glasses
on purpose so I will never know really
how it is to drink from your smile

and walk away wanting more of your whiskey
than just a few days of drunkenness
perhaps more of an oblivion if they exist
and would we try to find them together

I will always hope you would always hope so

Cheers to that.

And the thoughts behind the mask continue on too insecure to let themselves out.

Good stuff!

This is so lovely and I missed it, how comes?

quote:
how it is to drink from your smile

That would be a very intense kiss I imagine.

Love,

Thought I'd give this another read and glad I did.

Lots of thought patterns in this and it's a great read.

Really like this...

just out of reach like I imagined you
but I kept you behind the glasses
on purpose so I will never know really
how it is to drink from your smile

Man that says a lot to me...
