Le Creuset, Tell City, and so much more
Are but olden names of the branded lore.
Sparkling crystal and antique doors
For the right amount of money, can be yours.

Though thought to die, they're brought to sell
Every last item with a story to tell.
Oh, rocking chair that sat in sewing
Do you remember who? Can you tell of knowing?

Tell City chair in hard rock maple
Tell us if you can, tell us if you're able.
Tell us of the ones who sat through living
Tell us of the ones who lived by giving.

Fenton Glass Bell in Faberge design
Who first rang you? Who first called you "mine"?
Or the wallet green from the Princess Gardner
Never held a coin, never left to barter.

So much more with names we'd know
Some never used, but out they'd go.
Leave us your story if you will,
Did you know the table from Thomasville?

At the estate sale you showed your wares
Sold at the auction with "Buyer Bewares".
Sold as objects lost in time,
Remembered only in words of rhyme.

Steaven,

I love things that have character and stories to tell.  I am not enamoured with new and untouched - I want the fingerprints of history.

Thank you for sharing this auction with us.

Alison,
thank you...that is exactly the point...they are not just objects...they are witnesses of history...I often tell folks who visit me that every piece of furniture in my home has a history...they're just waiting to be told...I love provenance

inkedgoddess,
don't you just love all that info and historical reference in those pieces of history...thank you for reading and commenting

1slick_lady,
you do have the bug...don't you! My son-in-law (European) thinks that it is all about junk...but that is just because he lived under Communism and all the old is not good...I would love to see that 1808 piece...sounds very interesting...thanks for commenting

-Tell City solid hard rock maple Andover finsih #48 occasional chair
-unbranded pre-import sewing rocking chair
-Fenton Glass crystal velvet Faberge bell
-7 pieces of Home Interiors airplane decorations
-new in box 1960's Princess Gardner green leather French purse
-several lead crystal candle holders
-Haddon Chipendale Grandfather mantle clock
-never used black 70's era Le Creuset tea kettle (with stickers still on)
-various ceramic Christmas kitchen items

wow way cool
and the bowl im not sure where to take it to
to let someone look at it
it is a brown footed bowl about 4" tall- width is about 10" with raised men sitting at a table like an out door tavern with a woman pouring wine and a dog on the side in the bottom of the bowl (it is like a raised cameo)if that makes sense
very neat though

If only they all could talk there'd be some interesting tales for sure.

Very nicely done Steaven!
