the day is gone the night farspent the time was fun the moment lent to those who came and left so soon knew not of fame no need to swoon when bygones flew from what was once and time renews its fleeting stance the tick of night dispels the day at seconds' flight not here to stay the old has left the new now reigns the now bereft will not remain and counts of yore slow down the time of yester-your delays in rhyme |
