No more tears: a poem written in regret...tell me what ya think

I'd just broken off a long lasting relationship when I wrote this. As I explained to her the reasons for breaking up, I held her and she cried. I felt extremely crappy...but afterwards I reflected on the things I'd told her when we started seeing each other. One thing I said was,'You'll never cry another tear as long as you're with me.' Some things just don't workout. I hope you like the poem.

No More Tears

Day turns to night,
In the flicker of an eye,
Soft pedals of rain,
Pulled from the night sky,
Holding onto you,
I seem to hold everything,
The rain falls fast,
As birds softly sing,
Your soft, tender skin,
Caressable and whole,
Alive with music,
Haunting my soul,
I want to apologize,
And hold you close to me,
Make the magic of your heart,
My every memory,
You seem to scatter all the clouds,
However dark the day,
And when tears fill my eyes,
You kiss them all away,
Emptiness seeps in,
Showing my every fault,
i just wanted love for us,
To put high and exalt,
We'll never be the same,
Our hearts no longer twine,
The love we once shared,
Is no longer divine,
There is no other person,
That means this much to me,
I just need your loving faith,
To guide my strategy,
i need to know that you believe,
In everything I seek,
For there will never be another tear,
To touch your loving cheek.

In my opinion, I was the reason for her crying as much as she did during the relationship, so I did what I thought was best. I set her free from the sadness. She wanted more and I couldn't give it to her.
