Dear friend; oh friend of mine, Where is your flicker, why don't you shine? Is it burnt out or is it just dim? Is your kerosine empty, or full to the brim? Dear friend; oh friend of mine, Does it hurt you to try and let your light shine? Where is your light have you left it behind? Dear friend; oh friend of mine, How can I help you, is there no hope? If I can't help you shine, may I help you cope? Dear friend; oh friend of mine, Are you not in the least bit kind? Are you happy in the darkness, alone and grey? Is it better for me to leave you that way? Dear friend; oh friend of mine, Is it me who is quite out of line? Do I really want to help you or are you just fine? Could you be the match that makes my light shine? Dear friend; oh friend of mine.... Am I selfish and lonely just like you? Please tell me dear friend is my light burnt out too? |
