Jesus was sleeping when Ronnie was dying, a new pair of wings now Ronnie is flying, sitting in a bar so late that night, trying to find ways to make it alright, but when problems come, we lose all control, holding inside what we cant let go, i guess i can relate, you know i can relate, knocking on that unlocked door, knocking on heavens gate, and where was Jesus when ronnie was dying, a new pair of wings now ronnie is flying, say it isnt so, oh why'd you have to go, can you blame it on the world, well i dont know, where was Jesus when Michael was crying, that little boy afraid, thought they were lying, hold my hands and pray, oh why'd you go away, if you could talk to us, what would you say, where was Jesus when ronnie was dying, a new pair of wings, now Ronnie is flying, surrendered to the enemy of fate, and now knocking on heavens gate, love to the world but lost to himself, his pictures tell stories beside the shelf, Jesus was sleeping when ronnie was dying, a new pair of wings, now Ronnie is flying, he isnt going to work today, he's staying where the angels play, and i know he wonderes why, when he see's his family cry, sad, its just so sad, that scared little boy wanting his dad, he was sure it would be alright, but where was Jesus that awful night?
