I'm not really sure who originally wrote the prayer that is commonly used in AA meetings, but I've modified it for my own beliefs and found it to be helpful given the current circumstances.

Goddess grant me the serenity
To accept the things that I cannot change
The courage to change the things that I can
And the wisdom to know the difference.
An' it harm none, do what ye will.
So mote it be.

I love your version of the serenity prayer. I myself have always thought that the key line here is "the wisdom to know the difference". So many times we spend so much time and energy twisting ourselves into knots over problems we have no right or reason to control. It's taken me years but I've *finally* just started learning to offer what I can not control to the Spirits and to simply trust in their keep.

Some people may not be familiar with the verb form mote.  That is actually the correct present tense form of which our familiar form must is correctly a past tense.   The forms behave just as the verb wit "know" (wot "knows") and its past tense wist (with an s put inside the word) "knew".

I didn't know and I think it's interesting.  Thank you, Rachael, for bringing the word to my attention, and thank you, Ess, for providing some information about it.
