I was just wondering if anyone else likes their poetry at one time, and then comes back a while later and really doesn't like it...

Yes!  Especially a lot of my earlier poems that I posted under the name "aziza".  Yes!

Almost 4/5ths of my poems I have written, I don't like. Since I put my emotions at the time into them. And my emotions in most of them aren't usually positive, if you know what I mean. Its like a flash back on old bad memories. *shudders* yeah I'd rather just post them and not read them ever again.

Rileigh,

I print my poems and put them in a notebook.  Often, I don't look at them again, but they are part of my growing process in so many ways.  I squirm sometimes because I remember the emotions and events behind them.  My advice is not to throw them away when you don't like them.  Just put them away.

I also have a binder of poems.  I've been writing for about 10 years now and even though there are a ton of poems I'd rather not ever look at again, I am still surprised by my insight or imagery in some of those early works.  So definitely keep them...I'm sure there are good things in your volume of work, or at least you have grown from what you have written.
