In one sentence can you discribe me what sadness means? I'm just curious on what you guys will come up with.

(I couldn't do it in one sentence LOL)

I don't personally believe I can adequately convey what sadness means to me, to you. I think I could talk to you and tell you when I'm sad, what happened to make me sad....and I think depending on what you've experienced in life, to one degree or another there would be some level of relating to my feelings.  I think that when anyone goes through something, happy or sad.....it feels unique to you.....that no one else could possibly understand how you feel, because it's happening to you. It is your own experience...and how you deal with situations will depend on the level of emotion you feel, or do not feel. I think it all depends...

oh hon lots of things makes me sad...

people do mean things to each other and it really sucks...when people die and you don't know if they knew how much you loved them, or how much impact they had on your entire world...people that don't take care of their animals...
I could go on and on...

but what I wonder, is why do you want to know what makes folks sad? Is there something going on that is making you sad?
In other words.... you ok?

Sadness, to me, is disappointment.  Unmet expectations, dashed hopes, missed or ruined chances, compassion for a loved one's hurt or often just seeing the cup half empty.  We all must experience it to appreciate the happiness in life. What is light, if we've never known darkness?

Hope it helps.

Sorrow.

Theres one sentence to describe most things about sadness. Maybe its just a word. Can you use a noun to make up a one word sentence?

Zach, sadness, in my case, comes from within; it might be the lonliness of a moment, a longing for the past and people in it, an inexplicable empty feeling, or maybe seeing a living being hurt - sometimes, I am saddened by changes.

And, Zach, Sea asked about you because she cares about you.  Just like I have grown to care about you.  That's the opposite of sad, I think.  It's filling your life with something more than a moment or more than self.

That's how I see it all anyway.

A

when the  sadness enter into ourslves
when we breath it .. we eat it and we drink it
when its black clouds stands obstacl between us and between Sunshine of the sun whitch was shine our faces every morning
We do not have to write about anything else because we do not know except it
the happiness.. the joy.. the optimism
All words become stranger as for us
vocabularies of language we ignore it
maybe we all remember that we know it oneday
but taste of our mouth at pronunciation is bitter by it
like mouth's taste when we wake after we ate sweets in the morning and we forget to wash our teeth this is the sadness.

this is the sadness as for me

thank you  for your subject

Sadness is an awareness of microcosmic or macrocosmic disharmony that one (rightly - or far more probably wrongly) feels powerless to revert to harmony.

Sadness is the opposite of happiness, and essential in order to really appreciate the happy times.

Sadness is like a split infinitive.  Once you unsplit it it may be happy again.
