Ok so is it just me or does it seem like parents just don't understand so, my mam seriously thinks I am anorexic she wont believe me when i tell her i am not.... so whats with that just 'cos I am skinny? It bugs me, my whole family skips supper every few days a week too but they don't even get recognized... why do I feel like the one getting the worst of it? |

Your mother has your best interests in mind. Anorexia is a very dangerous condition that can kill very young people who appear to be otherwise healthy. If you're not, then confirmation from a doctor would support your position and alleviate your mom's fears. If you are, then confirmation from the same doctor could possibly save your life. Maybe on your next visit you could address it for everyone's benefit. Seems like a win-win situation to me..  |

How true Nan's words are! I can appreciate being very thin without being anorexic, too. I underweight as a kid and until the birth of our 4th, but I ate a lot of healthy foods including deserts and snacks. Even when I gained then, I was still underweight. A beautiful 2nd cousin of mine has battled anorexia for years and can't even hold a job. It's affected everything in her life as well as her brother, his family, her parents and grandparents to name a few. It's so sad. Do take care. Rae |

I fully agree with nan I had a simallar situation when my father accused me of taking some of a drugh called Phentramiene (a weight loss pill and energy enhancer) and i was able to tell him that i didnt take them and it seemed like he half beleved me. so the next day I walked down to the local clinic and got a blood test done when the results came back i was clean. Moral is solid proof will not only resolve the issue it will also build trust with your family good luck, Alex, |
