Here goes.... I have been best friends with this girl for 10 years *since I moved to this town* and I have always felt like we were really close, like sisters. Then I found out the guy that I have liked for the longest time likes me too. We start dating and she gets really jealous or something, because she begins to spread rumors about me, and then tells a bunch of my other friends that if i dont ''put out'' I'll just get dumped. To top that off, she tells me that she likes him, and she has for a long time. But up until this year, she didn't know who he was. She writes me a big long nasty letter saying how im so immature and that I'm gonna get dumped, ending this with ''your not my friend anymore'', well he dumped me, and all of a sudden she wants to be friends again. Even though the fight all started because of a guy, I don't think I want to be her friend because she doesnt seem to want me to be happy. I would just like to know if I'm in the wrong here. Am I acting immature? Should I just suck it up and forgive her, carrying on as though nothing happend?

well, when you really needed her she was not there for you. no, she did not want you to be happy. and so when you were happy she was not but now you got dumped she's in high sprirts again. in my mind this is not someone who is going to help you in the long run and what happens when another situation like this come up?
another nasty letter?
but then again you have known her for ten years. people change and move on.i'm not telling you what to do but you are certenly NOT bieng immature, she is the immature one. Ask yourself do you need her in your life? is she worth it?
i have many friend troubles and have been in the same situation as you over and over again i just don't like it when one person can be so brutal to another just to make themselves feel better.
i hope whatever you decide your happy
smiles,

I think there are different levels of friends...she obviously has fallen from 'best' to 'not so great'. Don't let her drag you down to her level. Treat her as you normally would treat a friend that you aren't really close to - she's lost the right to be 'best' friends though.

My advice? Take a deep breath. Don't do to her what she did to you and just keep moving. She's 'small stuff' in life and you shouldn't sweat the small stuff!
