I joined this site today because I find many wonderful poems on the linked site. I had never been to netpoems.com until today.....I wrote a wonderful woman a poem that was from my heart, then a emptiness came over me as I followed a link she sent me.....It was a poem from another man's heart...it was near word for word.....now I am asked to explain myself and have no explanation....I could sit and write a thousand more poems from my heart about this woman I've met...but how could I sit and write words of another before ever reading his words? Please help, has this ever happened to anyone but I? She will never trust my words as true now.......

Wow that is actually pretty creepy. But all I can say is to keep trying to tell her the truth. Eventually she will see that it is the real truth. If it doesn't end good then it's not the end. Besides nothing good is ever taken from us. I hope that I sorta helped. Silent

Nearly every line of love poetry that can be imagined has already been written at least several dozen times in one form or another. So it is highly unlikely that you will write a line that is not similar to something already done. But since there are so many lines possible, if your poem is more than just a couple of lines, it is certainly understandable that she questions the similarity.

Maybe you did copy someone's work and try to present it as your own. That's pretty tricky with the internet out there today. Maybe you read and were impressed with the other work but forgot it then inadvertently reproduced it while thinking it was your own.

In any case, you have a big problem here. I hope you can find a way to work it out and somehow make things right. But it aint gonna be easy.

or maybe you wrote and posted it somewhere first and someone else copied it... but there has to be more than just words to make a true relationship...

anyway good luck...

I suppose because you and that man were writing about the same woman you might have felt near enough the same, or maybe wrote about her in the same way which is a lot more common thing to do especially when it comes to love. The way I see it is there can be a million different ways of feeling love and very few ways of expressing it.

If your afraid of the dark, then why did you come?

That's just scary. But I do agree with the person above me. ^^^^^. If it doesn't work out then she's obviously not the right gal for you.
