Beautiful!  I downloaded some of her songs, thank you.  I love her version of Jolene, and also a song called, "Raggety Anne" thanks for pointing her out, she is awesome.

Have you ever heard of Secret Garden Reb?  I am hooked on their music.

And a local piano singer from Deep Cove in Canada, by the name of Lori-Ann Speed?  She is always sold out, and you have to wait, but its worth it.

Martie will love this link to hear her music!

Do you happen to have any more links similar to this one you posted Reb?

barber's adagio for strings

That is simply beautiful - played it over and over today, and would love more music like that, it is so relaxing, and thank you for sharing that link.

Couldn't get to the googly-tabbed - I "didn't have permission".  Humph.

But the second link...wow...thank you.

Now on to the next keeper...

glad you all enjoyed

thanks for the all the links mysterious one.. and Karilea --I'll have to check those out..

the only link I can give you right now would be maybe to my own adagio called 'Incarnate' that ironically was written and recorded when I was about the same age as Barber when he wrote his..  in my twenties...

it's in my briefcase
http://f1.pg.briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/nighthawke700/lst?.dir=/song+samples&.view=l

just mail me your yahoo ID and I'll add you to the permission list (which goes for anybody else too)

the thing about Mindy is she's being terribly mishandled by Vanguard (her record label).. but, that's a different subject...

when I bought the CD I had no idea that Jolene was on there (it isn't listed on the cover) so it was a pleasant surprise -- but when I heard Dolly on backup it was chill time... I love Dolly.

Thanks all .. I'll get back later... been busy -- my latestn 2 minute sample is in my briefcase too -- I Never Cared for You -- the old Willie Nelson classic..

I am absolutely hooked on Mindy Smith - got everything now.  Listening to Jolene as I type.

Anymore recommendations Reb?

Also loved that modern strings link you sent, anymore like that?  I listen to music non-stop so thank you for any suggestions.

Thankyou very much Martie.. glad you liked it..

Shar.. well, I wore my Led Zeppelin T today.. Yesterday I wore Johnny Cash at San Quentin -- tomorrow I'm wearing The Police Synchronicity, I just bought Countryman a couple of weeks ago -- Willie Nelson's new reggae album.. the other day I bought Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers greatest hits -- so it just depends on what you want -- I have very ecclectic tastes... something new I'm going to check out is The Hold Steady http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4812224

don't know if I'd reccomend it or not...

these guys are very cool
http://www.thenighthawks.com/

be sure to click on the play button and you can hear samples right on the front page -- jump into my fire is the best

I actually used to be in a rockabilly/blues band called johnny and the nighthawkes -- but we changed it cause of these guys and there's about three others out there -- but these are the best

Reb- if it is alright for the Beatles to sing about boys because it was a good song, then I would think that anyone being put off about an agnostic singing a religious-themed song should go wash their bible and leave you alone.

Great links, btw... thoroughly enjoyed.

thanks guys...

the acoustic set is still shaping up nicely -- I just added Petty's 'Into the Great Wide Open' last night -- and it's really fun to do..

took off a couple of weeks to work on about 6 originals -- because when originals strike you just have to work on them -- one of which most of you have heard -- if there's anybody that didn't get an mp3 of 'So Much Time' and still wants to hear it let me know and I'll send it your way..

still working on a share site -- soon!!  (that goes for your request too fraidy cat)!
